At LUNA, all of our products are created using 100% Soy wax.

Soy wax is made from soybean oil (from the Soybean plant) and is a renewable resource. Meaning LUNA is supporting the environment and also supporting the agricultural industry along our mission to create you a happy and healthy home. Below are some of the many benefits of using Soy wax, opposed to other waxes available.

Benefits of using Soy wax are:

• Soy is non-toxic - meaning that the wax is not poisonous to humans or pets.

• Soy is a plant based product, meaning it is cruelty free and a vegan product.

• Soy wax is a carbon neutral product, meaning you can enjoy your candle knowing it hasn't had a negative impact on the environment.

• Soy wax is a clean burning fuel source - meaning soy wax meets several requirements under government regulations that classify it as 'clean-burning'.

• Soy wax burns up to an average of 50% longer than paraffin wax candles.

So, why doesn't everybody use Soy? Well, because it is a more expensive product to use and harder to work with than some other waxes on the market. For example, paraffin wax is a petroleum based product and is classed as a 'fossil fuel' but is much easier to source and much cheaper to purchase. This of course, means that paraffin based products will be cheaper for the consumer but is not as healthy nor environmentally friendly as Soy wax.
